What we believe in and what our life is built upon is what influences all of our decisions, the paths we take and what we spend our time on. As Christians, we have recieved the love of God our Father and accepted Jesus into our hearts. Now, all we do and all we have should honour Him. That is what we desire and that is what we hope these few sentences will show you..
We both grew up in Christian homes with great stability and peace around us. Sometimes it feels as if we were "born in church", because it is such a great part of our lives, but we have also had two different journeys to come to where we are now.
Sometimes life has thrown difficulties and battles our way, and those have probably not been the last ones, but we have always had an anchor, a deep peace and a satisfaction in knowing to whom we belong and what our faith gives us. God is our strength and our rock when it blows and rains the most. He is our joy in the sadness and He brings comfort when life seems absolutely unfair and destroyed. He is our all in all.
Today, we are active members at Zoé Kirken here in Fredrikstad, the church where Anette grew up. We both have long experience with youthwork and Anette has been in several worshipteams over the years. At the moment, after a long process where God spoke to us and prepared us, we are now serving as youthleaders in our church and we love spending time with all these amazing youth God has entrusted us. We work closely to the two main leaders, Naomi and Lars Høiom, and it is so satisfying to sow into something worth being served. We would never have been happy and at peace if we would have said no to God´s calling. It is not perfect and a thrill all the time, but it is giving and such a blessing to use what we have to help others.
Knowing Jesus Christ
The basics of knowing God is first of all to see that you are a sinner in need of His forgivness and love. But it is available for everyone who seeks Him and asks Him. When letting Jesus into your heart, the Bible says you are born again and everything is made new. This means that all what was in the past is forgotten and this is a new start. There is nothing too difficult, too hard or too hopeless for God to save!
Ask Jesus to come into your heart and He will! He loves you so much that He he was willing to give His life for you and reconnect you with the God who created you. It does not promise you a perfect and challenge free life, but He will be there for whatever may happen and through all stages of life. Most importantly, you will spend the eternity with Him when this life is over. Just knowing that, we can have peace in our hearts and know that we are ment for so much more than what is just here and now..
